ALEXANDER WORKS

Alexander Works was founded in 1988 by Ellen Rony. The name honors her son, Alexander, who was a toddler at the time. She operates Alexander Works in Marin County, California as a registered DBA.
Ellen Rony has authored an extensive portfolio of published works, including books, software reviews in national publications, award-winning newsletters, technical manuals, corporate profiles, product brochures, press releases, marketing collateral and a comprehensive emergency management plan for schools.
After publication of The Domain Name Handbook: High Stakes and Strategies in Cyberspace (1998), Ellen was retained to provide litigation support for several high profile domain name disputes, including the landmark litigation over SEX.COM. She has twice survived Daubert Motions to Exclude Expert Testimony and qualified as a domain name expert in both the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (2001) and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (2006). She has also testified as a domain name expert in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and in the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division.
She has been involved with emergency preparedness activities since 1993, when she led the development of a parent support program for her local school district that has been showcased as a model for other school sites. Working at the Marin County Office of Education as a professional expert since 1995, she wrote federal and state grant applications and served as the project coordinator for those that were awarded to create a culture of emergency preparedness in Marin County schools. Her 2013 book, Moving Beyond Duck Cover and Hold On, is a blueprint for organizing voluntary support for emergency preparedness activities by parents and PTAs.
Ellen is currently writing her first work of fiction, a picture book for young children. She is a long-time patron of the World Wildlife Fund.
